We have put together a basic fall arrest kit for Chimney Sweeps and Engineers that gives the user a second level of security. Preventing a fall with guardrails and toeboards should always be your first consideration as fall arrest only stops you hitting the ground, it doesn’t prevent falls.
Comprising a 6m Chimney sling that wraps around the stack as an anchor point, an inertia reel mini block to give 2.5m of free movement but only the bare minimum of free fall, and a front and rear “D” harness that can be adjusted to fit most body shapes.
