In this blog post, we look at what the Desksurfer is and discuss its benefits. [![Request A Quote](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/7885436/interactive-190412425768.png)](https://www.abilityint.com/hs/cta/wi/redirect?encryptedPayload=AVxigLLqQsI83gKN6tui4FRQ3T%2BDZPJpwntlFgErY%2FKNUBvlUHV0L43x0VA7U8WNfdjecOKYrlaKWZVpeoqMcCprfKvITcZ%2BBzcKPOT2VdW14U1eMycCyjKSX%2FdXFCDzQK5wbtANonHVYfbFQ3gPlZqeCoRi22pgJIsER1rID5pL9bQ5Ihhm5mxuoduE&webInteractiveContentId=190412425768&portalId=7885436) ## **What Is The Desksurfer?** [The Desksurfer](https://www.abilityint.com/desksurfer-over-desk-access-platform) is a height adjustable mobile platform, available in a range of models and sizes that makes it easier to access hard-to-reach areas in office and industrial locations. Desksurfer products are designed to be used over desks, tables, work benches and other flat surfaces negating the need to remove or dismantle furniture. They’re easy to install and use, and can reduce down time improving efficiency. Thanks to their manoeuvrability and compact size, they can be easily transferred from one location to the next. ## **What Are The Benefits Of The Desksurfer?** The benefits of a Desksurfer include: ### **It’s Quick And Easy To Set Up** The Desksurfer is lightweight and easy-to-use. It’s quick and easy to set up, meaning that it only needs one person. Plus, it’s built with [durability in mind](https://www.abilityint.com/desksurfer-spares/parts), so it’ll last for years to come. With its sturdy guardrails and toeboards, you can rest assured that this piece of equipment will stand the test of time. ### **It’s Robust** If you’re looking for a robust, durable solution to meet your over-desk access needs, look no further than the [Desksurfer](https://www.abilityint.com/blog/why-should-you-hire-a-desksurfer-from-ability-ability-international). The Desksurfer was designed with a safe working load of 150kg with a 3:1 factor of safety to ensure the likelihood of injury due to mechanical failure was reduced to the lowest level possible. It features a heavy-duty aluminium construction that’s available in a variety of sizes to suit your needs. ### **Two Desksurfers Can Be Linked With A Bridge** When working on services above a boardroom table as opposed to above desks, there is the option to specify modifications to enable a bridge to be attached. Bridge platforms are available in four sizes from 2m up to 3.5m long. These modifications must be specified at the time of ordering as they cannot be retro-fitted cost effectively. ### **The Bridging System Has An Adjustable Self-closing Gate Mechanism** [The Desksurfer bridging system](https://www.abilityint.com/desksurfer-bridging-system) has an adjustable self-closing gate mechanism, so even if the user forgets to close it, the gate will automatically close by itself, providing peace of mind and keeping anyone who uses the platform safe at all times. ### **It Is Height Adjustable** The Desksurfer work platform is height adjustable in increments of 273mm, which helps to achieve the perfect height for your work. This way, you’ll be able to reach all the things you need to without having to over-reach.
