But what if your specific job site has unique challenges? Good news! You’re not stuck with a one-size-fits-all solution. The CHAMP (Cantilevered Height Adjustable Mobile Platform) can be customised in multiple ways to fit your exact needs, whether it’s adjusting dimensions, tweaking access points or increasing its load-bearing capacity. Here’s how. [![Request A Quote](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/7885436/interactive-190412425768.png)](https://www.abilityint.com/hs/cta/wi/redirect?encryptedPayload=AVxigLJzXS6d67BKlfwS7NLhcnxzATwrUt4ZJ%2B%2B0oNONvEI9YrOZw63%2FaxWHovHitcbu9fJum6fhdWPEbrwRL7eEZ9J7LjwdVFmTYG3PWcbv0fKVLN4ki8IcCSVZxNHGOJFFvWvyW3C07vj0TjE0%2BxA63WulrrKMv%2BIdfnkOlhBZ8hrMJzldL6ZpHM5W&webInteractiveContentId=190412425768&portalId=7885436) ## Customising The Base The foundation of the CHAMP can be altered to suit different working conditions. Need more stability? A wider, heavier base keeps things rock solid, especially at greater heights. Short on space? The base can be made narrower and shorter for tight walkways, [maintaining safety](https://www.abilityint.com/blog/working-at-height-in-hot-weather) by increasing weight and width in compensation. If multiple people are using it at once, its footprint can also be adjusted to ensure optimal stability without sacrificing manoeuvrability. ## Mast Adjustments Some jobs demand extra reach, and the CHAMP can deliver. The mast can be built taller or wider, depending on what’s needed to get workers into position safely. No more awkward stretching or unsafe positioning, just a proper, stable working height. ## Modifying Access Points For some applications, the CHAMP is more than just a work platform as it becomes an essential access system. That’s where gate modifications come in. Gates on both ends mean that if the CHAMP is being used primarily for access rather than a fixed work area, having entry and exit points at both ends speeds up movement and improves efficiency. Side gates are useful for setups where lateral movement is needed. Instead of having to walk all the way around, workers can step off safely to the side. ## Changing The Length Of The Platform If you need to gain access over a machine or other immovable obstruction, the length of the cantilever can be increased or decreased to suit your requirement, within reason. the longer the platform, the longer the base or the more counterweight is required to ensure stability. ## **Increasing The Safe** Working Load Some jobs require heavier-duty performance. If the standard CHAMP’s load capacity isn’t enough, modifications can increase its safe working load, allowing it to safely support more workers, heavier tools or bulkier materials without compromising stability. ## Using CHAMP As A Bridge System One of the more advanced customisation options is turning two CHAMPS into a bridge system. By placing two identical CHAMPs side by side and connecting them with a bridging platform and guard rails, you create a secure, elevated walkway. This is ideal for situations where access is needed across a gap or to reach another piece of equipment safely. Instead of struggling with ladders or temporary setups, a CHAMP bridge offers a purpose-built, stable solution. ## Make It Work For You The CHAMP isn’t a rigid, one-size-fits-all tool, but an adaptable system that can be custom-built for the demands of your worksite. Whether you need extra stability, better access, or increased load capacity, it can be modified to suit your exact needs. If your job has unique challenges, talk to us about customising your CHAMP to [make work at height safer](https://www.abilityint.com/blog/is-your-work-at-height-equipment-safe-to-use) and more efficient. ***To find out more about CHAMP customisation options and the best practices for work at height, [contact Ability International today](https://www.abilityint.com/contact).***   -
